I feel it’s with it and definitely bring your GoPro! If you are into snorkeling and you aren’t scared if the dark, definitely do this. Truthfully, my partner was a little scared and seasick, but I had a great time. The crew was helpful and the captain was great and entertaining! The manta rays are so cute, cool and majestic. I just wanted to learn more manta ray facts and identify the ones I caught on camera. When we returned from the trip I had trouble sleeping because I was too excited. Then later on there were about 3 rays and lots of them get right up to you. We got into the water and a manta ray came up immediately and got very close. But the whole experience was worth it and very memorable.īut the time in the water was awesome. I’ll give you a real rundown - the boat trip was long (20-30 min), it takes a while to get set up and packed up, the water was choppy and the boat rocked a lot when we were staying still. This was a very cool snorkel that lived up to the hype. They would either swim you back to the boat, or you could swim yourself back.

  • Every few minutes, the crew checks in with everyone to see if anyone was cold or tired and wanted to go back to the boat.
  • My husband and friend were brushed up against by the rays. The rays do flips and turns in the water beneath you and turn belly up to come up as close to the light source as possible to skim to water to feed on the plankton. I think we saw about 10-15 rays total on our trip, and for about 15 minutes straight, about 5-7 of them were feeding inches away from us. During that time you see plankton, tons of fish and loads of rays.
  • We were in the water for about 30-40 minutes total.
  • (It is tiring for your upper body to hold on for the duration of being in the water).
  • You swim to the floating contraption to hold on to, and the crew fixes the noodle to fit comfortably under your ankles.
  • Once you get to the site, you grab a pool.
  • I would consider taking some motion sickness medicines with you if you tend to get sick. The water was a little choppy the night we went because it was raining.

Get on the boat and travel 20-25 mins to the snorkeling site.Check in at the marina and get the gear (wetsuit shirt and snorkel gear).I would have like more info prior to going - especially for those people who are anxious about the excursion: Giving her as much information as she needed to feel comfortable and told her the best time to go into the water (we moved locations to see more rays). However, the crew (Jacob, Christian and Aleo) was amazing and patient with her. One of the people in our party is not really a water person, and was considering not going in. The was the rays glide through the water near you is insane. The rays we saw were around 5-8 feet wide, and we saw one ray that was 13 feet wide. We saw SO many manta rays inches away from us, feeding on the plankton that was visible from the LED lights the company used to illuminate the water. This was one of the coolest experiences my husband and I have done with our friends. This tour/activity will have a maximum of 48 travelers.
